The homie Josh Sisk has been capturing the best and worst of Baltimore and DC’s music scenes in photos for years now, and finally - finally - you can buy prints of his work online! It’s likely that you’ve seen his photos in Washington Post, Spin, The Sun, and City Paper - the guy really is one of the best historians of music in the DMV. My personal favorites will always be the photos he took for me during the My Crew Be Unruly blowouts. I’m biased, of course, but just look at these! Long live Josh Sisk.

It’s LCD Soundsystem week. That is, one week of sold-out shows climaxing in their last hurrah at MSG on Saturday with cohorts Liquid Liquid, Midnight Magic, and god knows who else. Why can’t it be Saturday right now?! For those of you who couldn’t get tickets, Pitchfork will be streaming the show live. They also wrote this book of an article that goes through every one of the band’s 43 tracks (in chronological order) in hopes to describe how each and every song fits into James Murphy’s “big picture”. (Just when you thought the guy couldn’t get any more exhausting…) JK, Murph-dog. This is rad.

From our great friend, Alex Prat/Alex From Tokyo:
“We are throwing a serious jam to celebrate and support them in this most difficult time. Please join us at Cielo on Sunday April 3rd. We will have a party supreme for you! A stellar DJ Lineup, a live performance from the legendary Monday Michiru and our pal Jose Parla hosting for the night!
All proceeds will go to the Red Cross of Japan.
Our friends at Staple design have created a commemorative pin for all who give the suggested donation. Our pals at Stussy/Union will be designing a commemorative shirt which we will be selling. (Proceeds again to Japan Red Cross), and we will be streaming the event live to Japan!”

The super-homie Dave Nada and I are proud to present the first ever MEGATON at SXSW! The moombahton innovator (creator / genius / rockstar / he of hair only comparable to my own) and I have been plotting this for months. And honestly, we couldn’t be more excited for this all-friends get-down of our favorite Latin-influenced dance producers and DJs to close out what’s bound to be an amazing SXSW. While Nadastrom will certainly be holding down the moombahtons, we’re so happy to have a carefully curated range of other dancey delights as well. There will be cumbia, reggae, dancehall, Latin house and tropical vibes from the gods DJ Sabo, Toy Selectah, and Dre Skull. Club annihilators Starks & Nacey and Brenmar hold down the more bass-heavy beats. And did we mention the live drummer and the hypest MC around courtesy of DC’s Sol Power All-Stars and the babest, Zuzuka Poderosa?
We’re expecting this to get bonkers and sweaty (and honestly, probably a little out of control with this cast of characters) - so we’ll recommend that you show up early. SXSW badges and regular party folk are welcome!
Full lineup and RSVP below!

I’m so very proud to present another addition of A Baltimore Love Thing on Thursday, March 17th at Malaia for this year’s SXSW! This official SXSW showcase focuses some of the best dance-makers and producers from DC to NY, and I couldn’t be more thrilled to have a lineup of some of my favorite DJs and friends get together for this. The show will host everyone from M.I.A. producer and Baltimore club hero Blaqstarr, Brick Bandit’s all-stars Tamiel & Tim Dolla, to my party resident Cousin Cole, and so many more. If tonight is anything like events past, be prepared for an epic dance party with a mix of hip hop, the grittier side of house, a heavy hand of club music, a mosh-pit of friends, stage-mobbing, and a couple of maniacs behind the turntables. SXSW badges and non-badge holders are welcome all night, though we do recommend that you RSVP for entry as this party does will up quite fast. Full lineup and RSVP info below!

It’s up on the Voice. We talked about Major Lazer, dancehall, Mad Decent, Kanye, and Twitter. I’m a little sad we didn’t cover more ground (he avoided talk of M.I.A. and Switch), but overall I’m pretty happy with it.
